Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating)

Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition that causes excessive sweating, which can be uncomfortable and embarrassing. Botox (Botulinum toxin) injections are a highly effective  treatment option for reducing excessive sweating in the underarm area.

Botox works by blocking the signals that trigger the sweat glands to produce sweat. When injected into the skin, Botox temporarily paralyzes the nerves that stimulate sweat production, reducing the amount of sweat that is produced in the treated area.

The procedure involves injecting Botox into the armpit/underarm areas of the skin using a very fine needle. A topical anesthetic will be applied prior to minimise discomfort. The treatment usually takes about 30 minutes to complete and patients can return to their normal activities immediately after.

The effects of Botox on sweating typically lasts around 12 months, after which the treatment can be repeated. Side effects are generally mild and can include mild discomfort, redness, or bruising at the injection site.
